Words that end with k or ck are tricky for young spellers. The rule is simple once they see it. Use ck right after a short vowel, like truck. Use k when a consonant comes between the vowel and the /k/ sound, like milk. The poster shows the rule with examples, and the worksheets give students lots of practice. Plan on about 15 to 20 minutes a day for one week.

Why I made these
I taught 3rd grade for 7 years. Now I homeschool my own kids and tutor children with reading difficulties and dyslexia. Spelling rules give kids a reason for the spelling instead of a guess. I made these so each rule is short, easy to see and easy to practice.
