Use c most of the time. Use c before a, o and u, and before a consonant, like cat, cup and clap. Use k before e, i or y, like kid and kept. Students fill in the missing first letter, sort pictures by their first letter and circle the right spelling. A bonus prompt asks them to write more words that follow the rule.

Why I made these
I taught 3rd grade for 7 years. Now I homeschool my own kids and tutor children with reading difficulties and dyslexia. Spelling rules give kids a reason for the spelling instead of a guess. I made these so each rule is short, easy to see and easy to practice.
